Subtle Bodies: Transcorporeal Becoming in Threshold Realms

Michaela came with a complex body of work and a clear instinct about how it should live on the page.

Her research moves through threshold environments. Spaces between body and landscape, material and atmosphere, where perception shifts and meaning stays open. The publication was developed alongside her PhD research and exhibition, bringing together sculpture, performance, photography and experimental materials into a single coherent experience.

At its core, the work traces transcorporeal relationships between human and non-human systems. Desert fieldwork. Hybrid materials where copper, textile and organic processes merge, resist, and transform. The boundary between maker and material is never quite fixed.

The book doesn't document this so much as continue it. Moving between density and pause, form and atmosphere, it mirrors the logic of the work itself. Something to be moved through, not just read.
